Below are some modalities that Dr. Rodrigues uses:

Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM)

Also known as Osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), or Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (ONMM), is a medical specialty that focuses on the bodies structure and physiologic function. Some problems in the body are best addressed with chemistry (ie medications) and some are better addressed mechanically. OMM also integrates the mind-body connection and the role that the central nervous system plays in our health and our perception of pain. OMM is used on patients admitted to the hospital, newborns with feeding difficulty, pregnant people, and everyone in between. OMM practitioners are also trained to think of the body as a system that is highly intelligent, and so our role is to support the body rather than try to push it to be a certain way. OMM includes a wide range of techniques, and Dr. Rodrigues customizes your treatment to your body’s needs.

Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Medicine incorporates techniques such as acupuncture and its use dates back almost 2000 years. It has been approved by the World Health Organization to treat a wide range of conditions. Dr Rodrigues has been trained in traditional models of acupuncture as well as more contemporary ‘Helmsian’ models which includes auricular acupuncture.

Dry Needling

Dry needling utilizes interfascial acupuncture needles but with a completely different application. The needles are placed in areas of fascial restriction with reliable pain patterns called Herniated Trigger points. While much more active and less comfortable than acupuncture, this technique can prove extremely effective with stubborn tissues including scars.
